*DESCRIPTION*
Not exactly a day trip but if you happen to visit Munich, Germany I highly recommend the Deutsches museum. It was so wonderful that I had to include it here on the website.
We've been twice and the second trip spent 5 hours there with my then 4 year old and we still had more left to see and do. It is a huge technology museum with original artifacts & interactive energy, transport & astronomy displays. The best part for young kids is the Kids Kingdom, an entire floor dedicated to hands on exploration for small children.
