* DESCRIPTION *The Outdoors
This is one of my son's favorite parks and mine too. One of the things that attracts me most to this park is the wonderful example of reusing reclaimed materials and loose parts to create an extremely engaging play experience for children. In addition to the animal enclosures for donkeys, goats and chickens, children can explore the hand built multi-level wooden play structure where they can challenge themselves to climb to new heights. Note that these structures are not for the faint of heart given that they are 3 stories tall with quite large gaps between the rails. However my 4 year old loves to explore them and tells me he discover secret passage ways and to see how high he can climb and scavenge for wooden planks to build new ramps and bridges to add to this amazing structure. The yard also includes a tree swing, trampolines and a large fire pit for kids to chop wood and build a fire (with moderate supervision), It also has a great sand and water play area stocked with a collection of toys and shovels, a magnificent wooden pirate ship, and water feature where children can splash in the summer or even use mason jars to try and catch tiny fish that live in there too. The Inside Inside you will find a generously furnished new wooden house with a cozy game room and lounge. One room full of pillows invited the children to build forts or simply grab a book and relax and read. A large workshop, equipped with tools and many different materials to be creative. |
